It's OK to fall apart
Oct 02, 2025
Welcome to this week's edition of Wellness Goals Weekly, your weekly dose of wellness inspiration.
As the leaves turn and the air cools, I think about 'falling.' While nature lets go, we often fear falling in our own lives, perceiving it as a sign of failure or weakness.
But what if it isn't? What if the moments where we feel we are completely falling apart are actually moments of profound change and opportunity?
I wanted to share something more personal with you this week. Several years ago, my world completely fell apart when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Everything I thought I knew, every plan I had, just crumbled. In those moments, I felt a mix of fear and a loss of control that is hard to put into words. It felt like failure. It felt like the end. But looking back now, I can see it was also a beginning.
That experience forced me to stop, to reassess everything. It broke me open, and in doing so, it showed me what was truly important. It stripped away all the noise and left me with a raw, honest understanding of what I needed to prioritise: my health, my peace, and my happiness. It was in that period of ‘falling apart’ that the seeds of my passion for wellness were sown, leading me to become the Wellness Coach I am today.
It was a reset, not an ending.
So often, we fight so hard to keep a brave face, to pretend we are coping perfectly. We see vulnerability as a weakness and burnout as a personal failing. But these moments of falling are often where real growth and self-discovery happen. They are not a sign that you are broken, but a sign that you are ready for a change, ready to let go of what isn’t working so you can rebuild something that does.
If you are feeling overwhelmed or like things are unravelling, remember: the heart of my message this week is that falling apart is sometimes necessary and can be a starting point for real transformation. Give yourself permission to be messy and human. It is okay not to have it all together.
My invitation to you this week is to try a compassionate check-in. The next time you feel that overwhelm, pause for just a moment. Instead of asking yourself, "How can I fix this?" or "Why can't I cope?", gently ask, "What support do I need right now?". The answer might be a five-minute rest, a glass of water, a chat with a friend, or simply permission to feel what you are feeling without judgement.
Sometimes the most beautiful things grow from the ground that has been completely churned.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
