How You Feel Changes Everything

Welcome to 2025! This is YOUR year, starting with a reminder that might change your thoughts about your goals and intentions.
Here's the thing… we're often brilliant at showing up for others. Need a pep talk? You're on it. Someone needs help? You're first in line. But when it's time to show up for you? That's when things get tricky. Sound familiar?
What if I told you that the qualities that make you amazing for others—dependable, thoughtful, inspiring—can also make you extraordinary at caring for yourself?
Here's how it works. Think about the people who look up to you—your children, family, friends, or colleagues. Whether you realise it or not, you're a role model. The words you speak about yourself, the way you care for your body and mind, the goals you chase—they matter. They ripple out and affect everyone around you.
Now imagine setting your goals for the year ahead by asking yourself this question:
What do I want to FEEL this year?
Not how many pounds to lose, miles to run, or tasks to check off your list (those can come later). Start with how you want to feel—strong, calm, confident, joyful? Keep that word close to you as you plan your days.
When you choose intentions like this, something magical happens. You turn your goals into something bigger than just a checklist. You start becoming the person you want to be—someone your loved ones can look to and say, "Wow, that's how I want to live."
And if motivation is still a little hard to muster, here's a gentle nudge for you to think about today:
- What you say about yourself matters. Speak kindly to yourself the way you would to someone you care about.
- How you treat yourself matters. You're worth more than just leftovers—whether it's time, energy, or compassion.
- Your actions matter. Every small step teaches someone else (maybe even you) what's possible.
- Your values and attitude matter. Show up for yourself the way you'd cheer on someone you love.
This year is your chance to model the life you'd want others to live. You don't have to be perfect—just intentional. YOU are proof that growth is possible.
Take a moment today to reflect. Ask yourself these two questions as you step into 2025 with clarity and strength:
What am I an example of?
What do I WANT to be an example of?
The answers might surprise you and might be the key to making this year your best one yet.
