How to Stop Battling Yourself and Find True Wellness
Aug 05, 2025
Feeling "Not Enough"? Find Your Path to Wellness. Learn practical ways to break free from “not enough” and start your journey to real, lasting wellness.
Have you ever felt like you’re just not enough? Many women share this struggle, always reaching and feeling they should do or be more. Maybe it’s that guilt when you leave work early for a school pickup, or frustration staring at an endless to-do list, wondering if you’ll ever finish. It could be lying awake, replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling pulled in every direction—as a friend, partner, parent, at work, or at home. It’s exhausting, isn’t it?
But what if you could break that pattern and feel comfortable in your own skin? Imagine starting the day with calm and control—not because life is perfect, but because you have the tools to work with yourself, not against yourself.
Small Shifts, Lasting Change
You don’t need a grand life overhaul. Lasting change begins with small, manageable practices that anyone can use, yes, even on your busiest days.
- Grounding in the Moment: When self-doubt or overwhelm hits, pause for a few deep breaths or a round of EFT (tapping). This simple technique, where you gently tap on acupressure points and repeat supportive affirmations, can bring surprising relief. It helps you find clarity and calm, even in tough moments.
- Listening to Your Emotions: Next time your inner critic pipes up, try asking yourself, “What am I truly feeling right now? Where does this emotion live in my body?” Naming and acknowledging your feelings without judgment can turn emotional hurdles into guideposts for growth.
- Celebrating Small Wins: Real change comes from tiny choices. Maybe it’s a ten-minute walk instead of scrolling on your phone, or jotting down one thing you did well today. These small choices foster genuine self-trust and resilience over time.
- Practicing Self-Compassion: Offer yourself the same kindness you’d give a friend. Progress isn’t always a straight path, and every step forward, no matter how small, is worth celebrating.
Your Challenge This Week: The Emotional Regulation Reset
Ready to put this into practice? Try this simple grounding exercise to help you feel more centered in moments of stress or self-doubt:
1. Pause and Notice:
Once each day this week, whenever you sense tension or a strong emotion, take a moment to pause. Take a slow, deep breath, and notice where you feel the sensation in your body.
2. Name the Feeling:
Gently ask yourself, “What emotion is this?” and name it without judgment. Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad, frustrated, or something else? Just observe.
3. The 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique:
Bring your attention to the present by naming:
-
5 things you can see
-
4 things you can touch
-
3 things you can hear
-
2 things you can smell
-
1 thing you can taste
4. Reflect:
Afterward, jot down anything you noticed: Did the emotion shift? Do you feel any release or clarity?
This small daily check-in can help you become more aware of your feelings, build emotional resilience, and develop a kinder relationship with yourself.
The journey to wellness isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about reconnecting with who you already are and giving yourself permission to grow, one mindful moment at a time.
Cheering you on to wellness success,
