 'I See You', a letter from my heart to women everywhere

I see you. 

I see you juggling all the parts of your life, being picked and pulled apart by the constant struggles.

I see you’re exhausted, depleted of energy that’s been spent looking after others.

I see you making time for everyone else and leaving none for yourself. I see that in the little bit of time you do have, you’re so tired that all you can do is sleep or scroll social media, envious of others who have seemingly figured it all out. 

I see that you feel lost, maybe under all the labels and expectations that society has handed you, or maybe under the pressure you’ve put on yourself to be perfect. 

I see that you don’t feel seen, heard, valued, loved, appreciated. 

I see the way that you speak to yourself - aloud and internally, and the way that makes you feel and act. 

I see you looking at your reflection in the mirror wondering who is staring back at you, and wondering what happened to that beautiful girl with the big smile and big dreams. The girl with her whole life ahead of her. 

I see you wishing that vibrant, energetic, ambitious, determined girl, with dreams in her heart and the drive to achieve them was still there. 

I see you turning to food to soothe and comfort your emotions, and to fill the void that exists where a full life should.

I see the vicious cycle that encircles you - feeling bad, eating to feel better, feeling worse, and eating more to numb the feelings that you don’t know to, or don’t want to, process. 

I see you sinking into an unhealthy life. 

I see you wondering if this is all that life has for you. 

I see you being resigned to the notion that this is the way it is. 

I see you thinking that it's wrong to expect, want, or ask for more. 

I see you, but I also see what’s possible for you. 

It’s possible to be positive, not only about your relationship with food, but your body, and self as a whole.  

It’s possible to create permanent habits that lead to permanent relief from weight struggles, leaving behind negative body image and exhausting yo-yo diets. 

It’s possible to clear your headspace of the constant thoughts about food, freeing your mind so that you can reach your true potential and finally feel at peace. 

It’s possible to be seen as your true self, both externally and internally.

It’s possible to find enjoyment in life and all its wonders. 

It’s possible because you are capable of change. 

You are capable of change even when it feels nearly impossible. 

You are capable of deciding to show up for yourself authentically each and every day. 

You are capable of changing your mindset, which ripples into your behaviours, which changes your habits, which changes your life. 

You are capable of living out amazing possibilities.  

I want you to know that not only can you change for the better, you can change for good. 

Things don’t always have to be the way they are now, because you are stronger than you may think, and more powerful than you may realise. 

I want you to know that you can be free from self-loathing and the harsh inner critic that must be silenced so that you can rediscover the joy of life and finally put yourself first.  

I want you to know that you can still be a mother, friend, child, parent while making yourself a priority. That you’re right not to settle because life is about asking for what you truly need, and being seen as who you really are, not just a label you were given along the way.  

I want you to know that amazing things can happen when you take a single step towards growth, and the people in your life won’t suffer. In fact, your growth will help them thrive. Because creating healthy habits will allow you to be more present with them, just as you are learning to be present with yourself. 

I want you to know that you can feel vibrant, energetic, and alive, and you won’t be alone. 

Together, we can eliminate emotional eating from your life and create healthy productive ways to deal with whatever the future has in store. The inner changes deliver external results, giving you freedom from food addiction, and emotional eating. 

Together we can increase your body confidence, inner confidence, and self-worth. 

Together we’ll create a new, kinder inner voice of self-talk, so you can stop holding yourself back from happiness. 

Together, we’ll create a new life, finally breaking the cyclical thoughts about weight and misleading negative beliefs that hold you back. 

Life is what we make it, and although taking steps towards growth can be difficult, it’s what makes us get better as we age, not just getting older, but becoming more self-actualised, stronger, and freer. 

You can be free. 

You can be confident.

You can be happy. 

You can be the real you. 

You can live an extraordinary life.

And I’m here to help.
